Find Somewhere That Works for Your Party
A local birthday plan for South Ockendon
Start with the place where everyone will meet for food, drinks and birthday cake. A suitable home can keep these familiar facilities close to the play session. The bus arrives party-ready and stays parked; children do not travel aboard it.
Our published Soft Play venue history includes All Saints’ Church in South Ockendon. If you are considering it for a new celebration, discuss current room arrangements and the outside position with the venue before making plans.
South Ockendon Village Hall on North Road is another option to enquire about. Thurrock Council describes a kitchen, tables and chairs, a ramped entrance and an accessible toilet. These can help with the wider party, while the bus provides the active play. Confirm access times, clearing-up arrangements and vehicle permission with the hall.
The Royal British Legion also advertises hall hire to the public. Ask about children’s parties and the entrance we would use. Room availability and space for the double-decker need to work together; do not assume a hall booking alone reserves an outside position.
This page focuses on South Ockendon. For other parts of the borough, use our linked Thurrock guide rather than assuming every postcode has the same travel price. Enter your actual destination in the Soft Play Bus South Ockendon checker and send your preferred date, session length, ages and numbers. Mention SEND needs in advance so we can discuss practical adjustments.

Do we need to hire a hall for Soft Play Bus South Ockendon?
You do not need a separate hall if you have suitable parking and access at home. If you need another location, our venue finder can help you explore options. You will need to confirm the venue’s permission and arrangements.
Who supervises the children?
Parents, guardians or organisers remain responsible for supervising the children throughout. Our DBS-checked member of staff looks after the bus and assists with the visit. Children under four need an adult onboard with them.

Food and drink are not allowed on the bus, and there are no toilet facilities onboard. Arrange a separate space for food, drinks, birthday cake and access to toilets at your home or venue.
What happens if it rains?
The play areas are inside the bus, so ordinary rain does not stop the fun. Extreme weather can affect travel and conditions; if that is forecast, we will discuss the practical arrangements with you.
Does the bus drive the children around?
No. The Soft Play Bus stays parked during the party and does not transport the children.
